connecting Castroville's people and pets

ADOPTIONS

FCAC hosts adoption events for the shelter animals.  This helps the public see the available animals since our city shelter is not open to the public.  Call our number (210) 446-0714 if you would like to meet any of our adoptable pets!  Before you adopt, please consider all that is involved in the proper care and treatment of a new pet. It's a LONG-TERM commitment!

Consider this before you adopt:

Can you afford the adoption fee of $50?  Our adoption fee helps offset the expense of vaccination, exams, spay/neuter, heartworm tests, heartworm & flea prevention, and medications.

Do you have financial resources to pay for annual vaccinations, flea/heartworm prevention, veterinary care?

Do you have a fenced yard for a dog? Chaining a dog is NOT ACCEPTABLE!

Can you easily afford food and water for your new pet?

Will you have time to properly exercise and attend to your new pet?

Do you live in a rental property? Does your landlord allow pets?

Does anyone in your household have pet allergies?

Do you plan on moving soon? Will you be able to take your pet with you?

Please review our adoption agreement and make sure you agree to all the terms.
